ITINERARY OF: 4 DAYS TOURS FROM MARRAKECH TO FES VIA DESERT
DAY 1 : MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY
We met at the agreed-upon spot after that. We'll start our journey in the southeast, travelling over the High Atlas via the Tizi N'tichka pass (2260 meters), seeing Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and stopping for lunch at a small restaurant. Then we'll cross the Atlas Mountains to a height of around 2.300 meters, stopping to take in the breathtaking views and see the Berber communities. We'll go on to Ait Benhaddou's Kasbah later (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Films such as Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz have all been shot on this magnificent set. In town, lunch is free. Then we'll travel to Ouarzazate, dubbed "Africa's Hollywood," where we'll take photos in Africa's second-largest studio, "Atlas studio." We'll also see the Taourirt Kasbah, which is one of Morocco's most beautiful. The Rose Valley, which runs through the Skoura palms, is the next stop on the tour; it's a beautiful site to see the more than 700.000 palm trees and various kasbahs that dot the landscape. In this valley, damascene roses are grown for aesthetic uses, such as rosewater. The Rose Festival, which takes place in May and is a prominent event in Moroccan culture, is held here. We arrive in Dades Valley and plan to spend the night there.
DAY 2 : DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA – BERBER TENTS.
We depart Dades valley after breakfast for Todra gorge, where we can marvel at the enormous number of kasbahs and their unique aesthetic features. A excellent asphalt road leads up the valley to the gorge and then to the desert from Tineghir. The view is very stunning. Locals live in the area, and you can see their adobe villages. Because of the varied rough surfaces on the rock sides, these gorges are popular with rock climbers. You'll have time to stop at Touroug for lunch after a short stroll through the Todra gorges before continuing on to Erfoud. You'll stop by a local fossil craft store. After that, you'll see the spectacular sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
After that, you'll visit the spectacular Erg Chebbi Dunes, also known as Merzouga Dunes. Arrive at the hotel and get ready for a sunset camel ride that will last around an hour and a half. Riding on the back of your camls, you'll proceed to the camp or spend the night in a typical nomad tent. Dinner and a night in a bivouac in the heart of the dunes.
DAY 3 : MERZOUGA – NOMADS – KHAMLIA VILLAGE – ERG CHEBBI.
We spend the day in the desert. The phrase "sunrise date" refers to "dating with the sunrise." If you're in the desert, getting up early to view the most incredible sunrise you've ever seen from the top of a dune near the camp is well worth it. After sunrise, we ride camels back to Merzouga, where a wonderful meal awaits us. Then we'll make our way around the Erg Chebbi, a large swath of sandy desert where we'll see Morocco's Big Dune, which stands over 250 meters tall. We then continue on a road that was originally used in the "Paris – Dakar" race and ends in the Algerian mountains. We proceed on a road where we may watch nomad villages and learn about their secrets and customs after stopping in Tissardmin oasis, where we can still see fossil quarries. The next stop will be at a viewing point to admire Erg Chebbi's magnificence. We'll next go to Mali's Kamilia Village, where we'll enjoy a calming cup of tea while listening to a Gnawa spiritual music performance. Transfer to your hotel and spend the afternoon sightseeing or viewing the sunset from the nearby sand dunes. Dinner and the night were spent in the motel. Stop by the Tissardmin oasis for a rest.
DAY 4 : MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ZIZ VALLEY – MIDELT – AZROU – IFRANE – FES
After breakfast, we continue our final day in the north, traveling through Tafilalet, the world's largest palm plantation. The 20-kilometer route will be lined with thousands of palm trees. This trail leads to the Ziz valley, where a river comes down from the Atlas Mountains and irrigates a palm plantation. From this lofty vantage point, we take in the breathtaking view of the valley and the settlement of Aoufous. We continue on to Midelt (Apple's capital), where we will have free time for lunch in the Atlas Mountains. We'll continue our journey south after lunch, passing through several towns and giving you the opportunity to view nomads living in tents. Then we'll head to Azrou, where we'll visit and play with Barbary apes in Morocco's largest cedar forest. On the northern slope of the Middle Atlas, the Moroccan city of Ifrane is located at 1630 meters above sea level. The city's wide avenues, immaculate urban development, gardens, open spaces, and architecture all have a Swiss feel to it. If that wasn't enough, it also includes Michlifen, a large ski resort with slopes down to fes in the winter.
