HIGHLIGHT OF: 3 DAYS TOUR FROM FES TO MARRAKECH VIA DESERT
DAY 1 : FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERG CHEBBI DUNES.
We met at the agreed-upon spot after that. We'll start our trip in the southeast, travelling through the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, Morocco's "Switzerland," and then on to Azrou, where we'll view and play with Barbary apes in the legendary cedar forest, Morocco's largest. On the way to Midelt for lunch, we continue south, passing through numerous cities and having the opportunity to view nomads living in tents. We'll continue our trek to the Atlas Mountains after lunch. The majority of the day will be spent passing through beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock walls, and Berber towns on your route to Errachidia, the desert's doorway. Then Erfoud arrives at the Merzouga Desert Hotel or Riad for a minty cup of tea and a chance to relax before the hour-and-a-half camel trek to see the sunset and sand boarding from the top of the next highest dune, dinner, and overnight in traditional Berber tents with drumming under a clear sky full of stars.
DAY 2 : MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ERFOUD – TINEJDAD – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALEY
Early morning sunrise viewing and photography from the top of the nearest large sand dune; after these unforgettable moments, return to the hotel to shower and eat breakfast before driving to Boumalne Dades via rissani, known for its large souk of animals (donkey, ship, cows), and then to Erfoud, the capital of fossile marbles, where we will visit the workshop that produces marble fossils. Later, stop for lunch in Touroug before heading to Todra Gorges for a short stroll to explore the beautiful setting and take in the views of the high rock cliffs (up to 160 meters). We'll next drive to Dades Valley via the Thousand-Kasbah Road, where we'll have dinner and spend the night in a hotel or riad.
DAY 3 : DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – HIGH ATLAS MOUNATINS – MARRAKECH
After breakfast in the hotel, the day will begin with a visit of the Dades Gorges' amazing rock formations. Then continue to Kalaa M'gouna and skoura via the Valley of Roses to view the 17th-century Kasbah of Amridil, and then on to Oarzazate, Africa's Hollywood, and a stop near the Atlas Film Studios. After then, it's on to the "Kasbah Ait Benhaddou," which has been a UNESCO world historic site since 1986. The Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is one of several locations that have served as natural backdrops for films such as "Alexander, Gladiator, Babel..." and lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we'll drive to Marrakech's red city, passing across the Tizi N'tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Transfer from the airport to your accommodation in Marrakech.
